After hydrolysis, perfluorooctyl triethoxysilane releases low molecular alcohol. The resulting active silanol can chemically bond with hydroxyl, carboxyl and oxygen-containing groups in many inorganic and organic substrates to form a self-assembled monolayer fluorosilicone film on the surface of inorganic materials.
